Now I have a really cool story on Steppenwolf....care to hear it?
Back in 1970, when KCRS was the Top Ten station that all the kids listened to, they ran a contest for tickets to the upcoming Steppenwolf concert at Ector County Coliseium....Wanting the first caller who knew who the backup band was going to be for that concert - I called in and happened to be the first person with the correct answer....The band? It was the "little 'ole band from Texas', and that was 6 months before their hit, 'La Grange'! Needless to say, the concert was unbelievable, and ZZ Top actually got the standing ovation....long before Steppenwolf came on stage! What memories!
